Work at Zacharewski Laboratory

As a Bioinformatics Co-op student I work on the development of dbzach, an Oracle database which stores toxicogenomic data generated by the lab. Right now I am focusing on the Sample Annotation Subsystem which holds information pertaining to the biosources and their chemical treatments. This subsystem is part of our implementation of the MIAME (minimum information about a microarray experiment) standards. MIAME aims to standardize the development of databases holding microarray information in order to facilitate the sharing of data amongst other labs and researchers. The Sample Annotation Subsystem will eventually be interfaced with the Toxicology Subsystem to assist in better modeling of the chemical effects on organisms and cell cultures.
