Macromolecular Computer Facility
The Macromolecular Computing Facility in the Departmemt of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology serves researchers within the department as well the larger MSU scientific community.
Specially equipped to aid in the study and teaching of molecular structure determination, bioinformatics, and evolutionary and systems biology, the facility also serves as a gateway to advanced computing equipment, while offering several computers and programs for the development of more general graphical and office presentations.
Manager Kaillathe Padmanabhan (Pappan), trained in protein crystallography, offers personal assistance in protein modeling, computer networking, installation, and hardware troubleshooting; installation of operating systems and software packages, as well as presentation formatting and design.
The facility also has a large format poster printer, color laser, B & W printers, and Agfa scanners. Two portable LED video projectors are available for check out.
