     We are pleased to announce that Michael J. Chamberlin has been named the 2001 Monie A. Ferst Medalist for lifetime achievement in scientific research and education. We will celebrate with a symposium to be held at the Haas School of Business on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley on Saturday October 6th, 2001.   The symposium will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Wells Fargo Room, level 4, room C420. We will have short presentations from former students and colleagues of Michael Chamberlin's, including:

     A catered luncheon will be provided.

     The day will conclude with dinner at the Bancroft Hotel, located between the Art Museum and Cafe Strada at 2680 Bancroft Way, starting at 6 p.m.
