The MSU Summer Symposium on Transcriptional Regulation and Systems Biology is being held July 18-20, 2008 on campus in the Biomedical and Physical Sciences Building. Please visit the conference website http://www.bmb.msu.edu/GEDD/symposium08/program.html for the complete program.
Fifteen undergraduate students from 11 colleges and universities, two Michigan high school teachers, and one Hope College professor are currently studying plant genomics with scientists in MSU's BMB, Horticulture, Plant Biology and Plant Pathology laboratories. These participants in the third annual Plant Genomics @ MSU Summer Research Program work on research projects, attend weekly research presentations given by faculty, and are offered the opportunity to attend a variety of social events.
The Plant Genomics @ MSU program, funded primarily by grants from the National Science Foundation, is coordinated by program director Linda Savage with administrative assistance from Katie Gallagher (BMB) and Alice Martin (PRL).
The goal of the program is to provide mentored research experiences in plant genomics and build relationships in the greater scientific community for visiting participants.
