Special Projects
Coordinators:
This is a
position open to anyone willing to take on the responsibilities of
“coordinating” various projects the club has lined up. Right now, Erica Frando
is the project coordinator for the Undergraduate Research “Practice” Forum
(March 28, 2002), and Katie Zobeck is the coordinator for the Tour of the X-ray
Crystallography Facility.
I. Develop the BMB club website
Woo Moon and Eli LeMoine volunteered to update and rearrange the
website, yet the official “title” for these two is still up-in-the-air.
q Mission Statement – under construction
q
Membership – discussed
whether the club should have any sort of official
membership, and if so, of
what type. No changes made.
II. T-shirts
The deadline for T-shirt ideas
was extended until the next meeting (in two weeks).
Janel is checking on the legalities of using “MSU” (if any)
III. Web page and links for Scholarships, Internships and Fellowship opportunities
IV. Profiles of BMB undergraduates
q Interview questions
Interview fellow BMB majors; questions to ask might include things like why they became a biochem major, what do they want to do with it, and Honors or Awards they have received, any research they are currently doing, and perhaps advice for the up-and-coming BMBers or a “memorable moment” type of thing.
q Format of webpage
The format for the profiles is probably going to be a quotes/story format with pictures of the students.
I. Tour of X-ray Crystallography facilities – project coordinator is Katie
q
Date – this will probably be on a Thursday, but the
actual day is still tentative.
q
Contacts
II. Other upcoming activities
q Reminder: upcoming events and deadlines
