Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology undergraduates may qualify for departmental, university, and national awards.

Departmental Awards
BMB Undergraduate Research Awards are given to MSU BMB undergraduate majors to pursue research in the laboratory of a BMB faculty member. For the 2004-2005 academic year, there were three $1000 awards and one $2000 award. One BMB student is also selected for the BMB Undergraduate Award. The BMB department solicits nominations for awards each Spring Semester. Department and College awardees are honored at the BMB Annual Student Awards (Boezi) Banquet in April.

2004 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship recipients:
   
Nathan Lord (Triezenberg lab) and Bhooma Aravamuthan (Burton lab) were among 310 nation-wide recipients. Sze-ling Ng (Kuo lab) received honorable mention for the Goldwater Scholarship.
 
American Society for Microbiology Research Fellowship
